Wigan pulled off a shock 20-18 victory over St Helens in the Super League semi-final at the Totally Wicked Stadium to book their place in the Grand Final.

The Warriors will now face Leeds Rhinos in the showpiece event at Old Trafford next Saturday, with the Rhinos having earlier secured their place with a 20-8 victory over Salford Red Devils.

It is Wigan's first Grand Final appearance since 2018, when they beat Warrington Wolves 12-6, and they will be looking to lift the trophy for the first time since 2016.

St Helens were the favourites heading into the game, having finished top of the Super League table and won the League Leaders' Shield.

But Wigan produced a superb performance to stun their rivals, with Ryan Hall scoring the winning try in the 78th minute.

It was a cruel blow for St Helens, who had fought back from 18-6 down to level the scores at 18-18 with just over 10 minutes remaining.

But Wigan refused to give up and Hall's try, converted by Jai Field, proved to be the match-winner.

Leeds will be slight favourites to win the Grand Final, but Wigan will be confident of causing another upset.

The Rhinos have won the Super League title seven times, but their last triumph came in 2017.

Wigan, meanwhile, have won the title four times, but their last success came in 2016.

The Grand Final is set to be a fascinating contest between two of the most successful clubs in Super League history.
